Common login problems

CTS uses SSO login for all student services including the Learning Commons. 

Login credentials are the same as CTS email username only and password (@ctschicago.edu should be removed)

Common problems include:

  1. Students try to access e-resources by clicking My Account on the Learning Commons website. My Account is for checking their library account (checked-out books, placing holds, digitization or book mailing requests.
  2. Students are using their complete email and not their username.
  3. Email credentials are not properly provisioned in AD. This can only be verified in OpenAthens.
  4. Cross-registered students (known as ACTS students) are not selecting the second option on the OpenAthens login screen.

Screensharing with students to see their login process helps troubleshoot the issue.
